PRO-NET, the electrified mobility subsidiary of PROTON Holdings Berhad, is running an outreach campaign in East Malaysia with a 5-day roadshow in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah from October 7 to 11, 2026.
The event, held at Suria Sabah, provides public access to test drives, vehicle displays, and technical consultations regarding the brand’s range of New Energy Vehicles.

Three models
Currently, there are three different models under the Proton e.MAS brand which is dedicated to electrified vehicles. These are the compact e.MAS 5, e.MAS 7 battery-electric vehicle, and the e.MAS 7 plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) variant.
All three models have been extremely popular from the time they were launched, cumulatively contributing to 40,000 deliveries nationwide and in some overseas markets over a 20-month period following the initial release of the e.MAS 7. This year, the Proton e.MAS brand is the leader in the EV segment in the local market.

Addressing consumer familiarity
According to Puan Salawati Mohd Yusoff, Chief Branding Officer of PRO-NET, expanding directly into East Malaysia remains central to the brand’s long-term market strategy. The regional initiative aims to address consumer familiarity with electric architecture, off-grid charging options, and regional aftersales requirements.
During the event, PRO-NET is offering financial incentives such as complimentary home wallbox charger installation, trade-in overtrade allowances up to RM10,000, and a preferential financing rate of 2.1%.
The roadshow program also incorporates technical sharing sessions hosted by PRO-NET training staff this weekend, covering real-world battery performance, infrastructure reliability, and general ownership logistics.

To address practical concerns surrounding electric vehicle ownership in East Malaysia, PRO-NET highlighted its expanding infrastructure footprint. The dealer network currently has 60 locations serviced by over 1,600 sales and technical personnel, with plans targeting 70 authorized outlets — comprising 57 service centres and 14 body and paint centres — by the end of 2026.
Proton e.MAS innovation
For ease of locating charging stations, the Proton e.MAS live charging directory now contains over 5,100 charging points in Malaysia. The innovative application, which is fully integrated with each car’s navigation system and also accessible on a smartphone, was develop by PROTON and its subsidiary, ACO TECH.
“Buying a car is an important decision, and we want our customers in Sabah to see our vehicles up close, experience them for themselves and have open conversations with our team. Whether they’re considering making the switch or simply curious about EVs, we welcome everyone to come and discover what Proton e.MAS has to offer,” said Puan Salawati.
