Following the overwhelming reception of the first two instalments in 2023 and 2024, the REDLINE Fitness Games by NISSAN returned to Malaysia for a third edition recently. NISSAN’s return as the event’s title sponsor is a strong endorsement of the brand’s alignment with REDLINE’s values. Khoo Cheng Pah, CEO of Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd, explained that the automotive brand’s ongoing involvement reflects its commitment to promoting strength, endurance, and boldness – all qualities central to both the REDLINE Fitness Games and the NISSAN product line.
“We’re proud to have been part of REDLINE Fitness Games again! At its core, REDLINE is about pushing boundaries. This pursuit of performance mirrors what we at NISSAN strive for in everything we build and everything we do. It’s about constantly evolving for the better. It’s about a shared mindset and vision of going further that makes this partnership so meaningful to us,” he said.
Held again at the MINES International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC) outside Kuala Lumpur, this year’s event greatly surpassed previous participation numbers with over 10,000 local and international participants and spectators.
Positioned at the intersection of athleticism and community, REDLINE has established itself as a regional movement that encourages individuals of all fitness levels to embrace the challenge of functional fitness. The numbers further cement its status as one of Southeast Asia’s largest and most inclusive fitness competitions.
Organised by Fresh Events Asia and supported by returning title sponsor NISSAN, REDLINE Fitness Games offers a platform for gym-goers and fitness enthusiasts to push their limits in a dynamic, high-energy environment.
The event’s core format remained rooted in the REDLINE workout arena – a sequence of workout stations designed to test strength, endurance, agility, and mental resilience. This year’s circuit included a mix of 12 full-body cardio and strength challenges, such as a 500-metre run, SkiErg, BikeErg and RowErg segments, deadball burpees, sled push and pull, and The Mule – a sequence of fast carries using progressively heavier sandbags.
Other exercises such as Russian twists, squat thrusts, shuttle runs, and the sandbag gauntlet, ensured a demanding yet balanced workout that challenged all facets of physical performance. Participants competed in structured categories, with Singles, Doubles, and Team Relay formats available for men, women, and mixed teams.
