The continued demand for Toyota vehicles reflects the right mix of models which can offer reliable, high-quality mobility solutions that meet the needs of different sectors of the Malaysian market. Guided by Toyota’s global Mobility for All philosophy, each model serves real needs in real life.

The Hilux – bestselling truck in Malaysia for the past 20 years – is one of the models which meets the real mobility needs in the real world for Malaysians.

“At UMW Toyota Motor, our focus has always been on building lasting relationships with our customers and the communities we serve. We believe that performance, reliability and real value are what truly matter to Malaysians,” said Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor.

Celebrating Performance and Community
UMWT took centre stage as the Title Sponsor of the AUTOBACS SUPER GT Malaysia Festival at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit recently. The event marked the return of the prestigious race series to Malaysia after a 12-year break and drew over 75,000 fans.

Toyota’s presence extended beyond the track with a dedicated GAZOO Racing zone featuring GR performance models, racing simulators, interactive activities, and family-friendly attractions. The experience brought motorsports closer to the public and reflected Toyota’s commitment to making exciting mobility more accessible to Malaysians.

Adding to the weekend’s excitement was the international debut of the TGR Vios Challenge  one-make race which ran for 1 hour instead of the usual 20 laps, making it more of an endurance race for the drivers. It also used the entire circuit length rather than the usual half-circuit layout.

Now in its eighth season, the race marked a significant milestone in UMWT’s long-term investment in motorsports and youth development and how the brand continues to champion local talent to help them move to high-level racing.

Practical Innovation at Energy Asia 2025
UMWT showcased its innovation at Energy Asia 2025 in June at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Central to its presentation was Toyota’s Multipathway approach to decarbonisation strategy encompassing energy-efficient Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles, biofuel, Hybrid Electric Vehicles, Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles, Battery Electric Vehicles, and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles.

The showcase also featured the Eco-Vehicle Assessment System, which applies Life Cycle Assessment practices to reduce environmental impact across the entire vehicle lifecycle. Visitors also had the opportunity to view the Toyota Mirai, a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (on sale in some markets) that emits only water vapour.
