Proton has joined the growing number of companies that are offering assistance to the victims of the Putra Heights fire. The Malaysian automaker has announced a comprehensive support initiative in response to the urgent and immediate needs of the affected community.
Aware that many affected residents are expressing that the financial aid they are receiving is inadequate, Proton is allocating a total of RM250,000 to those affected, including those sheltered at different temporary evacuation centres.
Proton is sympathetic to the needs of the victims and understands the devastating impact of the disaster. The immense challenges faced by residents at this time are difficult to comprehend and the company is dedicated to offering practical support during this difficult period.
Free vehicle assessments
It was reported that many vehicles were damaged by the intense fire and for those which are Proton models, 6 authorised Proton service centres in the area have been designated to offer free comprehensive assessments to determine the condition of the vehicles. This aims to accurately determine the extent of damage and provide owners with clear pathways for repair and restoration.
The service centres will also be able to assist owners with insurance claims based on the severity of the damaged vehicles. Proton will ensure that the owners’ benefits are protected and they receive full assistance.
