Lamborghini Temerario arrives in Malaysia, priced from RM1.35 million

Lamborghini’s second electrified super sportscar after the Revuelto – the Temerario – is now available in Malaysia. Priced from RM1.35 million (excluding duties, insurance and roadtax), this latest addition to Lamborghini’s electrified product line-up completes the brand’s full hybridization and is the second model in the automaker’s High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) range, following the Revuelto.

The all-new design sets the look for Lamborghini’s future legendary mid-engine sportscars. The clean-sheet design carries a connection to its legendary predecessors while its all-new persona is characterized by reduction, clarity, sharpness and recognizability. Its aerodynamics, as always, are  engineered for maximum efficiency while possessing stylistic purity.

The heart of a Lamborghini has always been its drive system. With the new Temerario, the engineers have taken an entirely new approach – over 5 years – to develop a super sportscar powertrain. The new powertrain’s first target was to achieve the highest possible specific power and torque, while at the same time offering the response of a classic high-revving naturally-aspirated engine.

Therefore, only high-performance components are used in the drivetrain: the new 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine has a specific output of 200 CV (197.2 hp) per litre and works together with an oil-cooled axial flow electric motor fully integrated in the V8 housing. Propulsion is supported by two electric motors on the front axle.

Total output of the 3 electric motors is 920 cv (907 hp)/730 Nm, with the engine capable of spinning up to 10,000 rpm. This gives the Temerario a claimed 0 – 100 km/h time within 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 343 km/h.

There are  13 ‘driving experiences’ which the driver can choose for daily driving or when racing around a track. The drive modes can be selected via the rotors on the steering wheel: the upper left red-crowned rotor allows the driver to choose between Citta, Strada, Sport, Corsa and Corsa Plus (ESC Off – electronic controls deactivated). By pressing the ‘checkered flag’ button for 2 seconds, Launch Control is activated to exploit the maximum potential when starting from a standing start.

Designed for both track and everyday usability, the Temerario features a new aluminium spaceframe chassis that increases torsional rigidity while optimizing driving dynamics and passenger comfort. Bridgestone developed custom-engineered Potenza Sport and Potenza Race tyres that have a tread pattern which maximises dry handling, wet handling and high-speed performance, allowing the driver to use the Temerario’s full performance capabilities on an off the track all year round.

For the first time when a Lamborghini debuts on the market, it will also be available with the ‘Alleggerita’ (lightweight), package for customers more oriented towards track driving. It reduces the car’s weight by 12.65 kgs through body components alone, with a reduction of over 25 kgs when incorporating lightweight interior elements and carbonfibre rims, and is even more efficient from an aerodynamic point of view (+67% aerodynamic load).

The refined cabin also offers increased roominess and luggage capacity, setting a new benchmark in the segment. The interior mirrors the exterior design, creating a balance between digital and physical experiences. Drivers will also have classical Lamborghini elements such as the Start/Stop POWER button inspired by aviation; e-gear lever; and red ‘line-up’ indicator on the steering wheel to emphasize the extreme sportiness of the new Temerario.

Following the ‘Feel like a pilot’ philosophy, thanks to the new generation dashboard, the driver and passenger quickly become one with the new car. Clear and intuitive to operate, the driver can reach all the controls from their perfect seating position. Iconic hexagonal air vents are elegantly integrated into the cockpit, and the centre console has space for a smartphone and wallet.

The Temerario also debuts the brand’s Vision Unit, said to be the most advanced multimedia experience, which provides immersive access to features that enhance driving engagement and allow seamless capture and sharing of their track and road experiences.

Over 400 body colours and special liveries will be available, offering customers almost infinite customization possibilities through Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program.

“We are thrilled to debut the Temerario here in Malaysia. Setting a new standard in the super sports car segment, the Temerario delivers outstanding performance and advanced hybrid innovation,” said Francesco Scardaoni, Region Director of Automobili Lamborghini Asia Pacific. “Driven by an all-new twin turbo V8 hybrid powertrain, it delivers the highest level of performance and comfort for a peerless driving experience rooted in Italian automotive excellence from Sant’Agata Bolognese. As a true Fuoriclasse, it empowers drivers of all skills level to fully engage with its precision handling and emotional appeal.”

Lamborghini has also launched the new Temerario GT3, the very first racing car derived from the road-legal model. The Temerario GT3, which will compete in race series around the world, is the first to be entirely designed, developed, and built at the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory in Italy. Conceived from the outset with a motorsport derivative in mind, the Temerario project has allowed for strategic integration of racing-oriented engineering from the earliest design stages. As a result of this innovative approach for Lamborghini, the GT3 features an adapted version of the aluminium spaceframe chassis, specifically modified to meet the structural and serviceability requirements of racing.
