Dinamikjaya Motors, the Bermaz Auto unit handling the Kia brand, has officially launched the Kia EV9 in public in Malaysia. The fully electric SUV, which is the flagship of Kia’s EV SUV range, is offered in two versions – a 6-seater priced from RM374,688 and 7-seater priced from RM369,688.
The EV9, which has won top global awards such as the 2024 World Car of the Year and Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year (besides major awards in various countries), has been in high demand in every market it has been launched in. The cumulative sales are believed to have passed 50,000 units last month, after just 12 months in the market.
The drivetrain is all-wheel drive with electric motors front and rear generating a total of 380 ps/700 Nm. With the 99.8 kWh battery, the range is said to be up to 505 kms, and recharging from 10% – 80% should be possible within 24 minutes.
The SUV comes with a 5-year/150,000-km warranty covering the vehicle, and a separate warranty for the lithium-ion battery pack which is 8 years/160,000 kms.
