Ingress and Sime Motors form Performance Motors Malaysia

Ingress Corporation and Sime Motors have announced a strategic joint venture to operate and manage two BMW and one MINI dealership sites under a newly established entity of Performance Motors Malaysia (no relationship the BMW dealership in Singapore with the same name).

Long association with BMW and MINI
Ingress is no stranger to the auto business and before becoming an authorised BMW dealer in 2008 (and MINI in 2012), it was already an established player in the local auto industry. In the 1990s, Ingress was established as a supplier to Proton and later began making parts for Perodua and other local assemblers. Today, it is a multinational company with operations in Thailand, Indonesia, as well as India. Its expertise ranges from automotive components manufacturing, automotive dealership, provision of services for the energy sector, traditional as well as renewal energy, to telecommunications.

One of the BMW outlets managed by Ingress which will now be in the Performance Motors Malaysia network.

Sime Motors needs no introduction, having had a presence in the local and regional auto industry for 56 years. The automotive unit of the Sime Group entered the auto business in Malaysia in the early 1980s when it partnered PERNAS to take on the Ford franchise. Since then, its portfolio of brands has expanded greatly and it has a partnership with BMW AG in BMW Group Malaysia.

This new collaboration with Ingress reflects a shared commitment to enhance the premium automotive ownership experience for customers in Malaysia, leveraging on both companies’ decades of industry expertise and the strong market presence of the brands.

The Ingress MINI outlet in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur is a landmark in the area, having been at the same location for many years.
