From C2 to SITU – Theottle’s design proposal for future Perodua sedan

At the KL International Mobility Show 2026, Perodua displayed a concept car called the C2 which was intended to preview the styling ideas their designers have for a possible future product. It was not meant to show an actual design, but many misunderstood that point.

Such concept models are design studies and there are many more in top secret design studios of automakers. Sometimes, the public gets to see them and what should be observed at the various forms on the bodywork, the proportions and some details. These may be incorporated in the production model in future and the designers want to hear from the public how they feel about the ideas.

Those that have positive response may be refined further and then adopted. However, things like ‘suicide doors’ (the ones where the rear door is hinged at the back) or futuristic door mirrors may not make it to production for practical or cost reasons.

Our friend Theottle spent a lot of time studying the Perodua C2 concept and has now come out with his idea of what a future sedan from the Malaysian automaker could be like, using some of the styling ideas on the C2.
