The current 5th generation Honda City was launched in Malaysia during the dark period of the pandemic in 2020. Nevertheless, when things got better, the model maintained its high ranking among non-national B-segment models to this day.

It’s now time for another update (likely the final one) and this brings updated styling and additional technology to the popular sedan. The update offers a balance of sharper styling and enhanced equipment levels.

The overall silhouette remains familiar, but the front end gets a redesign featuring a new full-width light bar integrated into the headlight assembly. The lower bumper area incorporates functional air curtains intended to widen the car’s visual stance.
Minor styling updates clean up the rear end, while the top-spec RS version gains new 16-inch dual-tone milled alloy wheels finished in Berlina Black and Dark Clear.

Better convenience, visibility
Within the City, equipment upgrades are aimed at improving convenience and visibility. There’s now a larger 10-inch Display Audio unit with ambient lighting to set the mood. To assist with tight parking situations, there’s a Multi-View Camera System providing 360-degree coverage.

Safety equipment across the range sees the addition of a Blind Spot Information system with Cross Traffic Monitoring. The complete Honda SENSING driver-assist suite remains standard for all versions, incorporating active features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist System, Collision Mitigation Braking System, and Road Departure Mitigation.

Two powertrain choices
Powertrain choices remain unchanged. Customers can choose from the 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine with 121 ps/145 Nm or the 1.5-litre e:HEV hybrid electric powertrain which delivers 109 ps/253. With the e:HEV powertrain, it is possible to drive on just electric power for short distances.
