Over 10 days, the 2026 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2026 (KLIMS 2026) saw over 205,440 visitors across the 7 exhibition halls of the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).
It was the 11th edition of the event with a long history dating back to the late 1970s when the very first KL International Motor Show (as it was originally known) was held at a small exhibition site next to the Chinwoo Stadium.

More than just a showcase of the latest models (with some classic ones too), KLIMS 2026 was presented with the theme ‘Beyond Mobility’, reflecting the auto industry’s shift towards Green Technology, electrification, and intelligent ecosystem solutions.

In line with current trends and also supporting the government’s push towards carbon neutrality by 2050, electrification was present in many displays in the form of the latest electrified models as well as technologies. Besides the current models available for sale, many of the brands also previewed models that will be launched during the year along. There were also prototypes giving a glimpse of the future.

There were also activities that provided various experiential engagements, such as the outdoor test-drives by GWM Malaysia which gave an experience of driving over challenging obstacles and rough ground. The public had an opportunity to test the advanced electronic drive systems of models like the TANK 300 and 500 SUVs.

There were also car club gatherings which brought together the communities of different models, a Modified Car Battle, and a creative collaboration with the RIUH creative platform, which integrated local entrepreneurs, digital creator awards, and live music performances into the broader automotive event.

“KLIMS 2026 continued to demonstrate the strength, resilience and adaptability of Malaysia’s automotive industry. The strong participation from exhibitors and the overwhelming response from visitors reflect the industry’s ongoing transformation towards electrification, innovation and smarter mobility solutions,” said Mohd Shamsor bin Mohd Zain, President of the Malaysian Automotive Association, organiser of KLIMS since the start.
“Beyond showcasing the latest vehicles and technologies, KLIMS has evolved into a comprehensive mobility platform that brings together the entire automotive ecosystem to foster collaboration, accelerate innovation and support Malaysia’s transition towards a safer, cleaner and more sustainable mobility future,” he added.
