Proton has announced the prices of its S70 Sedan which has a new 4-cylinder i-GT turbocharged 1.5-litre engine. There are 4 versions available – Executive, Premium, Flagship and Flagship X. Prices range from RM73,800 to RM94,800, with colour choices being Quartz Black, Marine Blue, Space Grey, Snow White, Armour Silver, and Ruby Red, a new colour.

Early Bird buyers (first 2,000) can get the new model with a rebate of RM5,000 if it is registered before March 31, 2026.

High output, high fuel efficiency
Maximum output from the new engine is a strong 181 ps/280 Nm which delivers quicker acceleration, reaching 100 km/h from standstill within a claimed 7.5 seconds. Factory tests show that the new engine can achieve up to 17.5 kms/litre, keeping running costs low.

Changes outside and inside
Besides the powertrain change, there are also updates to the exterior and interior styling, digital connectivity, and safety assistance systems. Visual changes on the exterior are the integration of LED headlamps and Daytime Running Lamps. The sedan also 17-inch alloy wheels with a new design and a revised aerokit to distinguish it from the 2025 model.

The interior has been refreshed with a black colour scheme and new finishing materials. The layout remains driver-centric, maintaining the existing ergonomic structure while updating the tactile elements of the trim.

The technological command centre is on the 12.3-inch infotainment display. This system now includes native support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside existing voice interaction and integrated data connectivity features.

Safety systems remain a significant component of the vehicle’s specifications. The 2026 model includes no less than thirteen Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These electronic aids include Autonomous Emergency Braking and Lane Keep Assist. Additional safety functions integrated into the ADAS suite include Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Aftersales promises
For the new S70, Fast Service is available for scheduled basic maintenance, allowing customers who book in advance and remain at the service centre while their car is being serviced with minimal waiting time. In addition, PROTON has introduced 1-Day Service Delivery, with the promise that cars are returned within 24 hours. Should repairs require more than 3 working days, authorised Proton service outlets will provide a relief car along with a one-time complimentary service, inclusive of parts and labour.
