• The BYD Tech Discovery event moves to Johor Bahru after a successful event last month showcasing the automaker’s advanced technologies.

While the largest number of new car sales is in the Klang Valley, there is also a significant market in the southern part of Peninsular Malaysia. This is a region that car companies also give attention to and BYD Malaysia wants car-buyers there know more about BYD and DENZA (its premium brand) vehicles, all of which are fully electric.

Malaysia’s No. 1 electric brand
In partnership with BYD Sime Motors, BYD Malaysia has rapidly established itself as Malaysia’s No. 1 fully electric brand, with more than 27,000 units on the road around the country (including East Malaysia). The DENZA brand, which arrived last year, has delivered over 1,200 premium MPVs since March 2025.

Following a successful event in the Klang Valley last month, the BYD Tech Discovery now heads south to Johor Bahru for another technology-driven customer engagement. To be held from January 22 to 25, the event will be at Padang (A) Akasia @ Angsana Johor Bahru Mall.

Interactive experience
To keep the momentum up and continue to maintain public interest in the brand, the BYD Tech Discovery offers an interactive presentation of not just the advanced BYD EV technologies but also allows the public to experience various models. It represents a strategic initiative to deepen public understanding and help accelerate adoption of intelligent, sustainable mobility.

Extending an invitation to the public to attend the event, Eagle Zhao, Managing Director of BYD Malaysia, said: “Bringing BYD Tech Discovery to the southern region is an important step in expanding EV education to more Malaysians. For many, electric vehicles are still unfamiliar in regions with limited exposure to EVs, and this showcase is designed to help consumers better understand BYD’s technology and experience the innovations of the future first-hand. We believe meaningful understanding of EVs is the first step towards adoption, and through continued education and engagement like this, we hope to encourage more EV adoption while fostering a simple mindset of shaping a more sustainable mobility future.”

What’s at the event
Visitors to the BYD Tech Discovery will take a deep dive into BYD’s advanced technologies with interactive and multimedia stations explaining innovations such as the Blade Battery. DMO technology and e-Platform 3.0, as well as BYD’s intelligent systems. After learning about the technologies, they can then experience various BYD and DENZA models for test-drives, and watch demonstrations of some of the more advanced technologies.

The whole family is welcome and there are kids’ areas to keep them happy and occupied, with complimentary refreshments. Exclusive BYD merchandise is also on sale and for those who fall in love with a BYD or DENZA model and must have one, there are exclusive deals during the 4 days. There’s also a Lucky Draw with a Grand Prize pool of up to RM38,888.

The BYD Tech Discovery will be open daily from 10 am to 8 pm. No entrance fee and no pre-registration required.
